The kneeling bow, made in seiza at the opening and the closing of a class. The left knee goes down first and then the right; the hands are placed on the mat in front of the knees, index fingers and thumbs meeting in a triangle, and the body inclines over them. Rising reverses the order — right foot first — so that the body is never off balance in front of the person bowed to.
