Tsurikomi Goshi

The lifting pulling hip throw. Tori keeps the lapel grip high, bends the knees deeply, and comes up under uke's centre while both hands draw them in and up. The lift and the pull do the work; the hips only give them somewhere to turn. It is the hip technique that answers an opponent standing straight and defensive.
