The natural posture judo works from: feet about shoulder width apart, knees soft, weight even, the body upright and unstiffened. Shizen hon tai stands square, and migi and hidari shizentai advance the right or the left foot. Every technique in the Gokyo is demonstrated from it, because a body that is not braced can be moved in any direction — including by its owner.
